Me as a senior in high school play Tom Jenkins in "Scrooge!"

I consider myself a story teller and I've spent my life learning new and different ways to express myself through story and narrative. I grew up in theater which gave me the ability to confidently stand in front of people and speak about my ideas.

One of my natural talents is writing. As a child I was always reading and writing stories and novels ranging from realistic fiction to deep fantasy. Reading and writing as much as I did gave me the ability to articulate myself and my ideas in a clear and interesting manner.

Me as a junior in college playing the Lord in "Changes of Heart."

My novel 'Shades of Grey' (not affiliated with E.L James' novel) is currently on Wattpad and doing very well.

Growing up in the theater gave me an outlet into music as a form of self expression. Immersed in the world of musical theatre, I began to dabble in various instruments throughout my adolescence including the violin, guitar, drums and voice until graduating college with a Bachelor's in music composition. Music has not been a skill that comes easily. It has always been a struggle but it has given me the ability to practice mindfully and to work at something (be it a task or a song I have to sing) slowly and in manageable chunks until it's done.

Most recently, the world of design has been calling to me. Though I am still building my skills in this medium, I was drawn to this world after being an AV Technician for almost five years and seeing how people interact both with each other and with the technical experiences we created for them. I then began to explore the world of software design, but quickly realized I didn't want to sit coding all day. I wanted a job that would allow me to possibly work from home, pay much more than my current job while still allowing me to be creative.

As I began to research options, I realized that there are huge opportunities to help people and make the world a better place. Many start ups are seeking to make mental health care more accessible/affordable, make education more accessible and even seek to fight for America's most disenfranchised populations. As a storyteller, I felt drawn to these companies and their desires to tell stories that needed to be told.

And that's where I stand now. I am seeking a UI/UX/Interaction Design job at a company working to actively better other people's lives or at a film or video game company. My deepest desire is to tell creative stories that either deserve to be told or empower and embolden underrepresented voices.

This was a design challenge to design a smart home app to control temperature/lights.

This design challenge was to redesign a website you use often. I chose to redesign YouTube to more resemble the grown-up platform on Vimeo.
